To turn on your new Vellcom torch for the first time, you must remove the protective battery isolation tab (often a clear plastic disc or a paper strip) that prevents it from turning on during transit.
Follow these simple steps:
- Locate the battery cap: This is usually at the bottom (tail-cap) of the torch, though some pen-style torches open from the middle or front.
- Unscrew the cap: Grip the end of the torch firmly and twist it counter-clockwise.
- Remove the isolator: Pull out the plastic or paper tab that is tucked between the battery and the metal contact.
- Re-tighten: Screw the cap back on tightly, and click the power button to test the light.
